"Welcome to the Biographies and History of Green Bay the definitive Green Day Tribute!!!" Green Bay are the remains of a punk covers band "Daz Puke and the Vomits". They got together about twelve years ago to do a one of charity gig doing old Pistols, Sham 69, Ramones, ect, ect. The response they got from that one off sold out gig was unbelievable. The lads decided to keep going and were soon playing regular sold out gigs around the midlands. (life was grand). But to cut a long story short Daz Puke and the Vomits split up on friendly terms about two years later. Daz moved to Holland, Sooty joined a local band called Bloke. Daint joined a band called Pigfish. Dodgy joined The Dream Thieves and Jeff went into the studio with fellow bassist Malc Gould to write songs. They did have one little success song for Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. which was sold in the club shop (over 3500 copies sold ). It was also played on radio WM on the Malcom Boing Boing Boiden show. Jeff then joined a Band called WageR who Edwin Starr ( RIP. ) was managing. The boys didn't see each other for quite a few years until Daz (still living in the Dam ) phone everyone out of the blue to say he was coming over for his brothers fortieth birthday and lets get together and do a Vomits gig. They were all well up for it and the gig went ahead, again to a sell out crowd. When Daz went back to Holland the rest of the lads wanted to carry on except for Sooty who was happy still playing in Bloke. So Daint, Dodgy and Jeff got together over a quite a few lagers and decided to start a Green Day tribute...........And Green Bay was born. That was two and a half years ago, and since then they have gone from strength to strength. The experience they have collected over the years shows on stage, and comes across as tight, powerful and full of in you face energy, just the way this modern punk music is supposed to be played. A real TRIBUTE to the greatest band on the planet......Check them out, you wont be disappointed........ |
